Musical Moments: Let There Be Peace on Earth

Moments Small (1).png

“Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons, and you will find that it is to the soul what the water bath is to the body.” —Oliver Wendell Holmes

Many of you “regulars” at the Bach Festival Christmas program hear this piece each year and, even though it is not necessarily a holiday piece, for me it is a classic for which I never tire. This inspiring arrangement was written for the Bach Choir and Orchestra by Department of Music Professor Jamey Ray. Professor Ray is also the sole arranger for his group Voctave. In addition to the Choir and Orchestra you will hear our youth choir at the beginning of the selection. My hope is this piece inspires…a smile, a tear, or as the text aspires…peace! John V. Sinclair, Artistic Director and Conductor
