A Message from Artistic Director and Conductor John V. Sinclair
We are saddened that we are unable to present the last two programs of our 85th Season. While we trust you understand why our mission of presenting great music to inspire the human spirit has been put on hold, we are hopeful that this hiatus will not be for too long.
Of course, we are deeply disappointed that we will not be able to share this incredible music with you, but we are vastly more concerned with the health and well-being of our community, as we know you are, too.
We are pleased to announce that we have rescheduled our performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah, one of the great oratorios of all time, for September 19 and 20, and we are working with the fabulous Díaz Trio on rescheduling their visit for a future date.
While I still don’t know whether a tree makes noise if it falls in the forest and no one is present to hear it, I do know that musicians make music for others to enjoy. So, over the next many weeks until we can present another live performance, we will be sending out “Musical Moments” for you to enjoy at home. Expect a few gems from our archived performances.
As always, we thank you for your support and look forward to bringing you, our community, together again through outstanding concerts in the near future.
In the meantime, please be safe and know that after this crisis we will be back to making music for our favorite people … you!
Kindest regards,
John
